Reductil (sibutramine) is an efficient medication specially designed for the needs of people trying to lose weight. It is most often prescribed for cases of obesity and works by suppressing your appetite. Tell your doctor if you have kidney, liver, or thyroid disease, high blood pressure, irregular heart beat, gallstones, migraine headaches, cancer, any eating disorder, Parkinson's disease, glaucoma, osteoporosis, bleeding problems, congestive heart failure, a history of stroke or heart attack before the treatment has started, as any of those conditions may be important in prescribing the correct dose of this medicine. Your doctor may also want to monitor you for any side effects that may occur in the course of the treatment. Mild side effects can occur and include runny or stuffy nose, seizure, upset stomach, dizziness, dry mouth, mild skin rash, constipation, loss of appetite, and hunger.
